Bible verses about witchcraft
Many deceived people say that you can still be a Christian and practice witchcraft, which is false. It’s sad that now there is witchcraft in the church and so-called men of God are allowing this to happen. Black magic is real and throughout Scripture it is condemned.
Witchcraft is from the devil and anyone who practices it will not enter into Heaven. It is an abomination to God! When you start dabbling in witchcraft you open yourself up to demons and demonic influences which will indeed harm you. Satan is very crafty and we must never let him take control of our lives. If you know anyone who is involved in wicca try to help them to save their life, but if they refuse your help, stay away from that person…. read more
Why Are So Many Christians Practicing Witchcraft?
When you read the headline of my column you probably had one of two thoughts:
“Christians are practicing witchcraft?” or “I’m not practicing witchcraft! I don’t read tarot cards, mix potions or cast spells!”
The answer to the first thought is, yes, Christians are practicing witchcraft. As for your insistence that you are not practicing witchcraft, well, you may not be moving in divination, but that doesn’t mean you aren’t engaging in witchcraft.
Consider what the Bible says about witchcraft. It may surprise you to learn that what the world—or even what the Wiccans—call witchcraft is not always one in the same as what the Bible calls witchcraft. For example, when you think of witchcraft, you probably think of black magic or conjuring the dead. Those abominations are covered in the Bible… more
Question: “What does the Bible say about witchcraft / witches? Should a Christian fear witchcraft?”
Answer: The Bible has a lot to say about witchcraft. Witchcraft and its many cousins, such as fortune-telling and necromancy, are Satan’s counterfeits to holy spirituality. The Bible expressly condemns all forms of witchcraft.
Since early times, people have sought supernatural experiences God did not endorse. The nations that surrounded the Promised Land were saturated with such practices, and God had stern words for His people concerning any involvement with them. Deuteronomy 18:9–12 says, “When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there. Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord.”… more
Calling Evil Good and Good Evil
Isaiah 5:20 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!
What happens when people as a society begin to call evil good and good evil? It leaves Christians with two choices, stand in the truth of God or exchange the truth for the lies of Satan and change our views about God. God’s word never changes because it is infallible (Numbers 23:19). Because of this, His Word will come to pass and the opinions of man will have no influence. As a Christian, whom will you choose to serve when the violence and persecution begins where you are, that is already in full play elsewhere (Joshua 24:15)…. more
